Dr. Edie Spence

Originally from Allen Park, Michigan, Dr. Edie Spence has resided in the Murphy area since the year 2000. She is a licensed chiropractor in the state of North Carolina.  Her undergraduate studies include a Bachelors Degree in Marketing from San Diego State University, and a Bachelors Degree in Human Sciences from the National College of Chiropractic. Her professional degree of Doctor of Chiropractic was received from The National College of Chiropractic where she graduated summa cum laude in the year 2000.

In addition to chiropractic medicine, Dr. Spence also has pursued 400 hours of post graduate education and licensing in the traditional healing technique of Acupuncture. Acupuncture is a method of encouraging the body to promote natural healing and to improve function. This is done by inserting needles and applying heat or electrical stimulation at very precise acupuncture points. 

Dr. Spence has built a solid reputation based on the sound principle of delivering professional, high quality health care service to each and every one of her patients. Dr. Spence takes great pride in her work and the exceptional level of service she provides to all her patients. Her goal is directed at pain intervention and control, followed by an in-office and at-home active exercise rehabilitative program. This approach reduces the need for long treatment programs, limits the number of office visits, lowers overall cost of treatment and promotes self-reliance.

Instead of just treating your symptoms, Dr. Spence is primarily interested in detecting, reducing and preventing the causative factors that limit you from achieving optimal health. Outside of the office, Dr. Spence enjoys spending time with her husband, two children, a dog, and two cats. Their hobbies included camping, hiking, enjoying lakes and rivers, and going to Georgia Bulldog football games. She maintains a consistent focus on her own personal fitness and enjoys being involved in church activities. She is of the Baptist denomination.
